Mumbai: Hundreds of University of Mumbai (MU) students were at the receiving end during Wednesday's bandh enforced by Dalit groups. Many college students could not give their examinations because of the protests and the lack of transport facilities all over the city. The MU announced that all the examinations that were to be conducted on Wednesday would be conducted "later in the due course of time".

Students could not reach their examination centre on time because of lack of disrupted road and rail services. “We asked all the Principals of the colleges affiliated under MU to allow the students to appear for examination to the nearby college or examination centre irrespective of their allotted centre,” said the order made by the MU.

However, there were many students who not reach the examination centre at all. Areas like Ghatkopar, Mulund, Govandi, Dombivli, Kalyan, etc did not have any kind of transport facility, which made travel a nightmare, and many students missed their exams.
