Mumbai: Absconding businessman in multi-crore Punjab National Bank fraud case, Mehul Choksi, has filed an application before the special PMLA court seeking further investigation in the case. He has blamed the bank and the probe agency for failure of his business and then slammed them for  terming the failure as fraud.

“The wrongful act of the bank, auditors and failure of the banking system has led to the failure of the applicant business.  The result of incomplete investigation done by the investigating officer led to the failure of the running business and later the same failure is being  termed as the ‘fraud’, first by the CBI and then by all corners of media,” read the application.

According to him, “The flaws were on the part of the bank and the auditors and not the accused, but the blame was put on the applicant, irrespective of the fact that due to the wrongful act of the above parties and in consequences of said act, the applicant had suffered an irreparable loss for the act of others.”

Choksi, in his application, has stated that the perusal of the charge sheet filed before the court in this case clearly shows that the investigation in this case is incomplete on various vital aspects.

According to the application the investigating officer has submitted an incomplete charge sheet without making proper and complete investigation and has levelled allegations against the applicant.

In his plea he has stated that all the allegations made by the probe agency have been made without investigating the relevant facts and hence it is imperative in the interest of natural justice that further investigation be directed in the present matter.
