3-year-old escapes leopard attack
The child is under treatment at the Nashik civil hospital.
Mumbai: A three-year-old boy in Pimpalgaon Ketaki village of Dindori district had a miraculous escape from a female leopard, due to his mother and grandmother, who fought with the animal to save his life.
The incident took place on Thursday evening, when the boy was playing alone in an agricultural field and a leopard suddenly appeared and grabbed him by her jaws.
When his mother and grandmother heard his screams, they rushed to the spot to save him from the leopard, according to reports.
“The child was playing in the fields in the village, when a leopard came from nowhere and picked him up in her mouth. Hearing the cries of the boy, his mother and grandmother rushed to his rescue and fought with the animal,” a police officer from Dindori told a news agency.
Soon after this, other villagers also rushed to the spot to help the family “Seeing the crowd of villagers, the leopard fled from the spot leaving the child behind.
The child has received several injury marks on his body and is under treatment,” the officer added. The boy was later taken to the Nashik Civil Hospital, where he is currently recovering from the trauma.
