Two brothers set bikes on fire, damage SUV in Kopri, arrested

Mumbai: The Thane police has arrested two brothers for allegedly setting fire on a few bikes and damaging a SUV over petty reasons in Kopri on Sunday. The incident took place in the wee hours when both the brothers used a combustible substance to set the bikes ablaze. They were apprehended later in the day after a probe revealed their role.
The accused were identified as Rohit Sonkamble, 21 and his brother Roshan, 20, who allegedly set the two bikes ablaze and also damaged another car parked on the road in Kopri Colony in Thane (east). The incident took place between 1.30 am and 2.30 am on Sunday, officials said.
Locals saw the two wheelers, a Pulsar bike MH04-BM-3454 and Activa Mh04-GK-4832) on fire, raised an alarm and informed the police. The officials began a probe and zeroed in on the accused duo, later in the day. Their questioning revealed that they had an issue with the bike owners who parked their bikes outside their houses and hence they set them on fire.
