Probing Kritika's calls, cops shortlist eight numbers
The persons, whose numbers were found on Chaudhary's mobile, are under the police's scanner.
Mumbai: The crime branch has found eight suspicious numbers in the call data records (CDR) of actor Kritika Chaudhary. She was found lying in a pool of blood on June 12 in her flat at Amboli. The persons, whose numbers were found on Chaudhary’s mobile, are under the police’s scanner. Chaudhary’s estranged husband, Vijay Dwivedi, who was arrested in a cheating case last week, has turned out to be a weak lead in the case.
Twenty days after Chaudhary’s death, the probe of her call data records has revealed that she would get calls from eight numbers frequently. The police suspected that she was a drug peddler and was in touch with the local drug mafia after the powder and tablets found in her flat were proved to be banned drugs. The police and crime branch officials are going through these eight numbers, some of which are suspected to be of drug suppliers or customers. The police has found that users of these numbers have switched off their phones, but it is trying to track them.
Police inspector Uday Shirke, the investigating officer of this case, said, “The probe is underway, and we have found suspicious activity in her call data records. The numbers that are there in the list are switched off, but we are taking technical assistance to take the probe forward.”
Until now the police has questioned nearly 250 people who were in touch with her and is trying to recover the deleted data from conversations from her phone to get a clearer picture of the life she was leading.
In a parallel investigation carried out by the crime branch officials from day one, sources said that the crime branch officials had detained two men who were seen leaving the building premises of Bhairavnath Society near Regional Transport Office in Four Bungalows at Andheri west, where the deceased model-cum-actress Kritika Chaudhary was found dead.
The police confirmed that it was probing the case with crime branch. However, the crime branch officials haven’t made the leads in the alleged murder case public.
