Mumbai: The Shiv Sena has hit out at chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and medical education minister Girish Mahajan over Mr Mahajan’s statement that the chief minister has a ‘divine power’. The Sena has warned Mr Mahajan that his power, which is supplied by Mr Fadnavis, can be cut down in 2019 election. The party has said in an editorial in its mouthpiece, Saamana, that the BJP had won the local bodies’ election in the state due to power of money.

The editorial said that Mr Mahajan had said that chief minister has got a divine power to resolve issues. It means that the Legislative Assembly and cabinet don’t have any work, it stated.

The Sena also attacked the state BJP spokesperson who had described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the “11th incarnation” of Lord Vishnu in October.

The editorial criticised Mr Mahajan for giving full credit to Mr Fadnavis over 16 per cent reservation to Maratha community.
