Ex-deputy cm's supporters to hold morcha next month
Leader Bapu Bhujbal said that it was a political ploy by the present establishment.
Nashik: Akhil Bharatiya Mahatma Phule Samta Parishad has decided to carry out a morcha to Legislature in March to pressurise the government to release incarcerated MLA Chhagan Bhujbal. Its senior leader Krishnakant Kudale said that a morcha would be staged from Rani Baug to Azad Maidan in March and the date would be intimated.
Ex-deputy CM Chhagan Bhujbal and his nephew, ex-MP Samir Bhujbal, are currently behind bars in a money laundering case. “So far no charges have been proven against them, but the government agencies have kept them in custody since the last 22 months under the flimsy reason of interrogation,” Samta Parishad said.
The Samta Parishad has launched a Bhujbal supporters jodo (join) drive, and Annaya pe charcha (discussion on injustice). Under these drives, meetings are being held throughout the district.
Leader Bapu Bhujbal said that it was a political ploy by the present establishment.
“We have full faith in the courts, but the present establishment was coming in the way of justice,” he said. He alleged that the government was misusing its power.
