Mumbai: A French-origin Indian, who is the director of a nursery school, has been accused of raping a three-year-old girl multiple times last November.

The MIDC police station has registered an FIR against the accused, who has left the country, and the girl’s female class teacher.

The teacher allegedly escorted the minor to the accused’s cabin where the latter would rape her. The case was registered on May 18 after the girl’s mother saw her constantly scratching her private parts and, on enquiring, learnt about the crime from the child.

The police questioned the teacher on the day the case was registered against the director and her. The first information report was registered under sections elated to rape and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act. Navin Reddy, deputy commissioner of police Zone-10 told The Asian Age, “The director had left the country before the offence was registered while the class teacher was called in for questioning on the day the case was registered. No arrests have been made yet as the police are still verifying the facts that have been put forth by the complainant, who is the child’s mother.”
