3 doctors held in Thane for man's death
A case of accidental death has been registered and a probe has been initiated.
Mumbai: Thane police has arrested three doctors from the district in connection wi-th the death of a 24-year-old man in April 2019. According to the police, one of the three was arrested for the wrong line of treatment while the remaining two were held for allegedly issuing fake additional degree certificates to him.
Addressing a press conference late Thursday night, assistant commissioner of police (Kalwa), Ramesh Dhumal, said, “The victim, Ankit Patil, a resident of Shil Phata, developed severe breathing problems and was rushed to the clinic of Dr Mohammad Dawood Khan (43) in Mumbra on April 24 this year.”
The police official said, “Mr Khan treated Mr Patil at his clinic for over an hour. However, when his condition worsened, he took him to a hospital in his own car. But Mr Patil died on the way.”
