Efforts for better equipping students'
In the time slot after the baseline tests and the semester exams, the students are once again given revision sessions.
Mumbai: The education department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) aims to focus on the existing students and foster them in every possible way, say the officials. Through baseline exams, the performance of every student is marked and examined. The teachers too are given additional training in these terms.
It is that time of the year when the semester examinations is said to begin for the school-going students. While preparing the students for the examinations and to enhance the passing percentage of the students in the civic schools, the civic body is equipping them with better facilities and training.
“Though we want more and more students to come to our schools, we do not want to forget our existing students and the trust of their parents,” said a senior official.
While the class 9 and 10 students have extra class, in case they fail to understand some lessons, the class 1 to 5 students have remedial digital training lessons which can help them understand their chapters in a better and interesting way.
“Baseline tests, which happen twice before the semester exams helps the teachers to understand the weak section of the students. All subject teachers are given training in a way that they can mould a weak kid to strong one. This way the kid starts liking the subject along with scoring good marks in the examination,” said a senior official of the techno-savvy section of the department.
