SDMC van to deliver PM Narender Modi's message
He exhorted the citizens to come forward to download Mobile app for free from the play store.
New Delhi: Lok Sabha member from West Delhi Pravesh Verma on Saturday launched a “Swachhata Sandesh Van” of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC). The van will disseminate various recorded messages by Prime Minister Narender Modi in all localities falling under its jurisdiction.
The van will be taken to all the localities to exhort the citizens to contribute at least 20 hours in a week on swachhata-related activities. Mr Verma called upon people to render their constructive contribution during ongoing “Swachhata Sarvekshan 2018” in order to facilitate a better ranking for the SDMC.
Mr Verma appreciated the efforts of the SDMC in declaring all its 104 wards open defecation-free, putting in place a scientific mechanism of maintenance and upkeep of the newly-constructed toilets and providing guards at the toilets to avoid any unpleasant situation.
“Mobile Swachhata App is the best available mode for getting swachhata and toilets related grievan-ces resolved without any human interface,” he added.
He exhorted the citizens to come forward to download Mobile app for free from the play store.
Mr Verma further requested the citizens to adhere to the simple do’s and don’ts to keep their place and neighbourhood clean forever and turn swachhata initiatives into a movement for all times to come.
Mr Verma said that the SDMC by moving towards mechanization in the swachhata activities has gone much ahead than the other civic bodies in the country.
Standing Committee chairman Bhupender Gupta while addressing the gathering asked them to make use of two coloured dustbins and concentrate on the source segregation of the garbage.
Mr Verma presented first prize to the best performing swachhata activities to the hotel, hospital, School, RWA and Market Association in the west zone.
