The lessons in the tabs are in four languages — English, Hindi, Marathi and Urdu. It has book readers, Android-based applications inbuilt in them.

The 27 school stationery items include uniforms, school bags, shoes, socks, raincoats, notebooks, textbooks, water bottles, geometry boxes and tiffin boxes.

Shilpa Khorde, a BMC school teacher, explained, “Tablets are a pride for these students as that is something given to them which they own. These students who come from underprivileged backgrounds are the happiest when they see things like tablets, virtual classrooms and computers in their school, and their interest levels shoot up when these things are added to their day-to-day education.”
