Why is CM quiet, asks Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil
Vikhe-Patil said that the action on Mr Singh would avoid further embarrassment for the police.
Mumbai: Opposition leader Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil demanded immediate action on additional director general of police Parambir Singh.
The supreme court (SC) on Wednesday slammed state government over press conference addressed by Mr Singh to show the alleged proofs of accused in Bhima-Koregaon case. Mr Vikhe-Patil said that the action on Mr Singh would avoid further embarrassment for the police. He also slammed chief minister Devendra Fadnavis for remaining quiet on the issues raised by Opposition parties and civil society.
“SC clearly expressed displeasure over police officers addressing press conference and disclosing proofs. State government’s lawyer apologized in courts,” said Mr Vikhe-Patil. He called it an embarrassment for police and state,”
“Mr Singh should have been asked to restrain at first,” said Mr Vikhe-Patil.
