Nagpur: Mumbai Congress president Sanjay Nirupam has challenged chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, saying that after the Navi Mumbai area came under CIDCO, no land was allotted to Koyna project-affected persons (PAPs), and that all land allotments were carried out either prior to 1971 or outside the CIDCO area as per government policy under the Congress-NCP regime. Mr Nirupam also demanded that the state government take back possession of the Navi Mumbai plot purchased by Paradise Builders. So much so that Congress workers visited the Navi Mumbai site and blackened the board of Paradise Builders, which purchased the land from the Koyna PAPs.

The CM has announced a judicial probe into the Navi Mumbai land allotment to eight Koyna PAPs. He has refuted claims of irregularities in the Navi Mumbai land allotment to the Koyna PAPs. Further, he has stayed the deal allotting the Navi Mumbai land to Paradise Builders and restrained any kind of land transfer pending the judicial probe. Mr Nirupam has challenged the CM on this matter.
