Power snag causes mono to halt at chembur station

The operation to pull the train off the tracks took about an hour to execute.

The incident occured at 9.00 pm when the Chembur bound train had set off from Vadala and was nearing its final stop when the incident occurred and it fell half a platform short of its destination.

Mumbai: The ailing monorail once again huffed and puffed to a halt with half of its coaches on the platform and other half on the track due to power failure on Saturday.

The MMRDA officials then had to send another train to pull the broken down train off the tracks. The entire operation took about an hour to execute by which time the services of the monorail had shut for the night. The monorail usually shuts down its services at 10pm.  An official said, “No one was harmed in the accident and the problem has now been rectified.”
