Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray slammed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for bringing the projects in Konkan reg-ion of Maharashtra, which is eco sensitive. He also appealed people from Konkan not to sell their lands to ‘outsiders’ and asked his party workers to hold contractors responsible for the potholes.

“What we are seeing in this region. Looking at the priceless land of the area, the anti environment projects are being planned there. These projects can be shifted to any other places. We recently saw the mayhem in Kerala. But if that southern state can flourish with tourism then why not Konkan?” said Mr Thackeray.

MNS chief has already opposed the establishment of Nanar Petro Refinery project, in Ratnagiri district. Almost Rs 1 lakh crore will be invested and 16 thousand acres of land is targeted for the acquisition in this project.
