MSRDC extends date of tender submission
This is the second tender issued by the authority for toll collection and maintenance work, and the third time that the deadline has been revised.
Mumbai: After receiving a poor response for the Mumbai-Pune expressway toll collection bid, the Mumbai State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has extended the last date of submission to the second week of December.
This is the second tender issued by the authority for toll collection and maintenance work, and the third time that the deadline has been revised.
The previous bid was for 15 years and IRB was selected in 2004 for toll collection, with its appointment ending in August 2019. Thereafter, the MSRDC issued a new tender for the expressway.
Five to six companies attended the pre-bid meeting but only one company came forward for the bid due to which, the MSRDC had to issue a second tender. The earlier date was reviewed by the MSRDC due to Assembly elections. The MSRDC then extended the tender submission date till October 30.
Later, the MSRDC exten-ded the same till November 21 for the second time and now, the date has been changed to submit the bid till December 16.
The tender is for the appointment of contractor for toll collection, maintenance and operation on the Mumbai-Pune e-way till April 2030. The expected bid value is for '8,600 crore.
