Shiv Sena upset for being kept in dark over BMC inaugurations
They also created uproar in the civic house demanding an apology from the commissioner over the issue.
Mumbai: Shiv Sena women corporators on Friday stormed into the BMC’s chief Ajoy Mehta’s office accusing him of not taking the Sena into confidence over the inauguration of civic works. They also created uproar in the civic house demanding an apology from the commissioner over the issue.
Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had inaugurated the facility of checking Development Plan (DP) reservations on BMC’s mobile app at Sahyadri guest house on Wednesday. He had also launched BMC’s another portal, One MCGM GIS, which will bring more co-ordination among various departments of the civic body.
However, Sena alleged that no civic leaders, including Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, were invited for the inauguration ceremony. House leader Yashwant Jadhav said that it is an insult to mayor and BMC house and Mr Mehta should apologize to the house for keeping Sena into the dark.
Mr Mehta said that after seeking suggestions and objections from corporators, the BMC house has sent the draft DP to the state government and so it has now become their property. “During a meeting, the CM directed to launch the app immediately and hence it was inaugurated. There was no intention to insult the corporators on this.”
However, Sena corporators were not satisfied with his explanation.
