The college level examination that is the first year and second year exams for B.Com, B.A, and B.Sc will begin from April 12 and April 23 respectively.
Apart from these regular examinations, exams of the self financing courses will begin from April second week. Also, the law examinations are said to commence from the month of May for all the semesters of both three years and five years. The examinations of the entire post graduation course are too set to commence from April. Only the exam dates of the engineering students are yet to be finalised. Students have been asked to check the official website of MU for exact dates and timetable.
However, due to the delay in declaring the dates of the examination, teachers in city colleges are finding it difficult to finish the syllabus and cover all the assignments and projects before the examinations commence. Along with all these, the teachers have also been instructed to complete the assessment process of the winter examination answer papers on priority basis by the MU. "We have to both assess the papers (of the winter exams) and complete the syllabus for the upcoming exams which is very tough for us," said a teacher who did not wished to be named. She further said that every time this kind of situation occurs but earlier the assessment was manual, which made it easy for them.
Results delayed
Last year, the results of summer exams- 2017 conducted by MU was delayed by three and a half months due to the newly introduced On Screen marking (OSM) system. The final year students of both UG and PG suffered due to technical problems in the OSM system .
