Probe into death of cop's 20-yr-old son
The police are now questioning his friends to ascertain the sequence of events of that day.
Mumbai: The Aarey police station is probing the death under of a 20-year-old son of a Mumbai police officer, whose body was found in the bushes on Wednesday. The officials said that the boy had left home to attend the birthday party of one of his friends on Monday but did not return. Earlier an accidental death report was filed ..After the autopsy report was received a murder case was registered.
The police said that the deceased has been identified as Atharva Shinde, who is son if Narendra Shinde, a police officer currently attached with Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai police. The police are now questioning his friends to ascertain the sequence of events of that day.
The body was found with injury marks, in the bushes near Film City in Aarey Colony on Wednesday morning at around 10.30 am. The police was informed by locals soon after.
Preliminary probe has revealed that the group of friends were drunk and were allegedly out for a long drive. The police has not revealed the purpose of them getting down at the isolated spot.
