Mumbai: Soon, you will be able to express your like or dislike for a toilet facility provided by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Under the Swachh Bharat scheme, the BMC has put up a one-of-its-kind feedback machine with three buttons depicting various emotions outside a toilet at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) a week ago. The emoticons on the buttons are: happy, straight face and unhappy.

After using the toilet, one can express the level of satisfaction by pressing the relevant button on the machine. The feedback thus collected will be then analysed by the BMC.

According to senior BMC officials, the newly installed machine has been getting a positive response from the people, with 92 per cent having pressed the ‘happy’ button after using the facility.

“People have been giving the machine a thumbs-up by registering their feedback after using the services of the public toilet. After collecting data from these machines, the BMC will improvise on the sanitation depending on the results,” said Vijay Balamwar, deputy municipal commissioner, BMC.

He further said, “After the positive response, this initiative will be taken forward.” After successfully installing the sample machine, the BMC is planning to install a few more at other places.
