Duo arrested in 22-yr-old's murder case

The accused had allegedly shifted from Sakinaka to Mahul following the incident.

Mumbai: After a year-long investigation, the Sakinaka police cracked a murder case of a BPO executive and arrested the accused after they surfaced in Saki Vihar area on Saturday.

The investigators stated that Gulabchand Jaiswal alias Arun (22) and Montu Khan alias Irfan (22) killed Siraj Shaikh (22) with a cement block at around 12.45 am in Parerawadi area.

Shaikh worked as an executive in a BPO. The accused duo was later identified to be local residents of Parerawadi area.

Preliminary investigation in the incident revealed that the accused and the victim had been conversing on some topic, which flared up later into a fight between them. In due course the accused attacked Shaikh with a cement block.

The accused fled from the spot when they saw Akshay informing the police control room about the attack. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

“The investigation began only on the basis of the description that was given to the police by the victim’s friend,” said Anil Kumbhare, deputy commissioner of police (zone VIII).  

The accused had allegedly shifted from Sakinaka to Mahul following the incident.

The accused have been booked for murder and have been remanded in police custody till December 13 for further investigation.
