Mumbai: In a bid to bring in punctuality and transparent record management, the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has geared up to enable its biometric attendance devices with Aadhaar link at all its administrative offices and service dispensing establishments. The action follows the central government directions, asking all the government organisations across India to register its employees on an Aadhaar-enabled biometric attendance platform.

Currently, the MBMC under its e-governance initiative has installed 23 biometric machines — a thumbprint based attendance-recording system at the main administrative building, ward offices, local body tax office, health units and fire brigade wings of the corporation.
