Ex-BJP MLA assaulted by party men

Mumbai: On the eve of the polling day on seven Lok Sabha seats in the state, scuffle took place between two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) camps in Jalgaon  in the presence of BJP strategist and irrigation minister Girish Mahajan and  Shiv Sena leader Gulabrao Patil at Amalner in Jalgaon on Wednesday.

The supporters of Uday Wagh, BJP Jalgoan district president, who is husband of BJP leader Smita Wagh and B.S. Patil, former BJP MLA, came to fists and blows over alleged derogatory remarks on Mr Uday’s wife.

The incident took place during a public rally for the BJP-Shiv Sena candidate Unmesh Patil which has embarrassed the saffron alliance.
