Mumbai: Mumbaikars can now make suggestions about fare and punctuality of trains to the Central Railway. For the first time in its 164-glorious history of the CR, the feedback has been sought online via its website and  now it has a specific link saying- Feedback form for Mumbai suburban trains.

The CR has always had a redressal system but this year the input sought for suburban Mumbai trains was predominantly displayed on its website. Officials said that the change was made keeping in mind that the people will go digging the website earlier. An official said, “The website has been re-designed and the link for Mumbai is now predominantly displayed. This was done because railways has been stressing for increased participation of the public and at times we miss the obvious solution. The public might actually point it out and help us.’

The feed back form available at http://cr.indianrailways.gov.in/form3.jsp deals with one of the touchiest topics for Mumbaikars that is the fare. In input sought on the fare, is a two part question where it has been asked if the existing fare is very low or very high and a follow up question that asks, if railways should increase fares for better service?

Another feedback sought is the categorising of the punctuality of the CR and if the train is always on time, occasionally on time or never on time.

CR chief public relations officer, Sunil Udasi said, “We have always encouraged commuter feedback and would like to ask the commuter to come forward and fill in the form on the website., This feedback is vital as it helps in improving our service.”
