MNS slams Shiv Sena over BMC restrictions on pandals
Since the Sena is the ruling party in the civic body, the MNS has targeted it on this issue.
Mumbai: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on Friday slammed the Shiv Sena over the restrictions imposed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Ganesh pandals as per the high court directions. They displayed banners near Sena Bhavan at Dadar, taunting the party with statements like — Build Ram temple in Ayodhya, but first build Ganesh pandals in Mumbai.
BMC has imposed many restriction on Ganesh mandals for erecting pandals and has withheld permissions for many reasons as per high court directions. Since the Sena is the ruling party in the civic body, the MNS has targeted it on this issue.
Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray recently announced his decision to go to Ayodhya to support the Ram Mandir. Referring to it, MNS leader Sandip Deshpande said, “You go there, but first give permission to Ganesh mandals for erecting pandals in Mumbai.”
MNS displayed the banners near Sena Bhavan, to embarrass the Sena.
