Maharashtra govt committed to development of Gadchiroli: CM
Our main aim is to provide employment to locals in Gadchiroli, Fadnavis said.
Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said his government was committed to the development of Gadchiroli district.
"We are committed to the development of Gadchiroli and our main focus is to provide employment to locals," said Fadnavis after handing over land for the proposed sponge iron plant of Lloyds Metals and Energy Ltd at Konsari village in Ashti tehsil of Gadchiroli.
Naxal menace has put hurdles in the development of Gadchiroli district all these years.
He said Lloyds plant is being set up to process iron ore and provide employment to locals, a release issued by the chief minister's office said here.
Fadnavis distributed cheques to various farmers, who gave their lands for this sponge iron plant of Lloyds. The company announced adoption of Alapalli ITI in Gadchiroli for providing training to the locals, the release added.
Later, Fadnavis visited a village in Chamorshi taluka of Gadchiroli district and inspected work of Malgujari talao. He also interacted with locals in Bamanpeth village in Chamorshi taluka.
The chief minister also interacted with girl students at Bamanwadi village in Chamorshi taluka in Gadchiroli district and reviewed security situation in Gadchiroli with CRPF and state police officials in a meeting. Fadnavis later left for Nagpur by road as his helicopter developed a technical snag.
