Mumbai: Woman arrested for travelling to Canada with fake passport

Komal Dabgar, resident of Ahmedabad, wanted to migrate to Canada but couldn't get visa, so she obtained a fake passport with visa.

Ministry has decided that flying to these facilities would not cost more than Rs 2,500 for an hour long flight.

Mumbai: Police here have arrested a 23-year-old woman for allegedly travelling to Canada with a fake passport.

Komal Dabgar, resident of Ahmedabad, wanted to migrate to Canada but couldn't get visa, so she obtained a fake passport with visa through a travel agent, police said.

Dabgar arrived here on Monday and took a flight to Canada from the Mumbai international airport.

However, the Canadian immigration authorities found out that her passport was fake, and deported her back immediately.

She was arrested by Sahar police here and produced before a local court which sent her in police custody till April 13.

She was booked for forgery, cheating and other relevant offences under the IPC, police said. Further probe was underway.
