Mhada to expedite hsg projects
Fadnavis directed that the target of constructing 10 lakh homes be fast-tracked.
Mumbai: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed that the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) be the planning authority to expedite housing projects under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Home for All” scheme. Mr Fadnavis directed that the target of constructing 10 lakh homes be fast-tracked. He also directed that departments including environment grant sanctions to the project within one month under the Right to Service Act.
Mr Fadnavis noted that projects were held up for lack of sanction from various authorities. Corporations, municipal councils, the SRA, environment and other departments were not giving approvals in time. Hence, he directed that MHADA act as the planning authority for clearing these projects to achieve the target of starting construction of 10 lakh homes this year.
