45-year-old man shot twice by two robbers

Mumbai: In a daylight crime, a 45-year-old man employed as a manager with a private company in Palghar was shot twice by two bike-borne robbers shooters in Kudus on Monday who fled away after snatching his bag which contained Rs 6 lakh. According to the police, the shootout was reported at the State Transport (ST) bus stand, minutes after the manager identified as Karan Singh Yadav (45) alighted from a bus, after withdrawing Rs 6 lakh cash from a co-operative bank in Bhiwandi.
The assailants shot Yadav twice when he tried to resist and snatched from him the bag containing the cash, and sped off on a motor-cycle in full public view. . The money was to be disbursed as monthly wages to the workers of the company. The investigating team has not ruled an inside job as the crime seems to be well-planned as the assailants were apparently aware of Yadav’s movement and the huge amount of cash he was carrying. The police have procured footage's captured by CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity, but the images are hazy, police said. A case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Indian Arms Act has been registered at the Wada police station.
