No lead yet in Vile Parle therapist's rape, murder
Vile Parle police officials probing the case have not found anything despite scanning nearly 38 CCTV cameras.
Mumbai: Despite questioning over 400 people, Vile Parle police has not made any headway in the case involving rape and murder of a 25-year-old physiotherapist and is now waiting for results of DNA samples of the victim and the main suspects.
The physiotherapist, 25, was found in the small hours of December 6, dead and in a naked state, in her house in a chawl in Vile Parle east. Preliminary forensic reports confirmed that the girl had been sexually assaulted by two or more men and had even been subjected to unnatural sex. Vile Parle police officials probing the case have not found anything despite scanning nearly 38 CCTV cameras. "While we think that the crime was committed by someone known to her since there were no marks of forced entry into the house, we are questioning everybody. The victim stayed close to a slum and our officials are even questioning those people," said one of the investigating officers. “We have questioned everybody including the deceased’s boyfriend, sister and her boyfriend, and her best friend. We also got in touch with her colleagues from the previous organisation where she worked and people in her current job. Her past boyfriends and college friends were also questioned,” he said. Samples found on the victim’s body have been sent to FSL. “We hope the DNA samples throw light on identity of the accused," he added.
