Police quiz crew of Vistara in actor molestation probe
Mr Anand asked the court to consider the fact that Sachdeva has a nine-year-old special child, and the family is dependent on him.
Mumbai: The police is questioning the crew of the Mumbai-Delhi Vistara flight to ascertain if alarm was raised multiple times by the actor Zaira Wasim (17), who accused a male passenger, entertainment firm official Vikas Sachdeva (39), of allegedly molesting her.
Currently, Sachdeva is in police custody. The Sahar police is questioning the crew of the flight to see the sequence of events that led to the alleged molestation.
During the argument in the court, Sachdeva’s lawyer H.S. Anand had asked why the victim did not raise an alarm earlier and waited till the landing.
The crew had recorded a statement earlier too, but considering the new allegation against the victim, these points too will be stressed upon.
Mr Anand said that the complaint against his client is an afterthought with legal advice. “If the complainant victim was harassed during her two-hour flight, she could have given a complaint at the airport terminal itself. Instead the complaint was registered at her hotel the next day, with significant discrepancies in the alleged incident and her statement,” Mr Anand said.
Sachdeva, who stays with his wife and son in Kandivali, has no previous criminal record.
Mr Anand asked the court to consider the fact that Sachdeva has a nine-year-old special child, and the family is dependent on him.
