Mumbai: Three men, including two brothers, were stabbed to death at a scrap yard in Turbhe on Saturday. The Turbhe Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) police said that the triple murder seemed to have been fallout of a Rs 4 lakh deal gone awry. The police is on a lookout for the unidentified accused.

The deceased, identified as Naushad (19), Irshad Shaikh (20), who were brothers and Rajesh (28) were found brutally killed inside the scrap warehouse in MIDC area of Turbhe in Navi Mumbai.

After the police reached the spot, they found that the trio might have succumbed to death because of being smacked in the head by a hard object and were stabbed with sharp objects several times.

“The deceased hailed from Uttar Pradesh and were running a scrap business from the establishment where they were murdered. There is no clarity on the motive of the murder, however, business rivalry could be one of the reasons,” said an officer of the Turbhe MIDC police station.

Preliminary probe revealed that the deceased were allegedly negotiating some scrap deal worth around Rs 4 lakh; however, its link with the murder is yet to be established. The incident came to light on Saturday around 9 am morning after their bodies were found. The deceased will undergo an autopsy to ascertain further details in the attack.

The police are questioning the neighbouring shop owners to ascertain if there was any visible dispute recently that could have led to the murder. The officials are also scanning the phone records of the deceased to find out the contacts they were in touch with along with figuring out who all visited them on the day of the incident.

The police are now collecting fingerprints and other evidences from the spot in order to match it with records of past offenders for further clarity in the incident.

A case has been registered against unidentified persons as per section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. The police are also verifying if there were any CCTV cameras in the neighbourhood that could have captured information pertaining to the crime.
