A recent report published by the department of indu-strial policy and promotion of the Centre states that the state has lost its hitherto number one position to Karnataka in attracting industrial investment and slipped to third place instead.

Mumbai: Maharashtra’s declining position in terms of industrial investment has pushed the BJP on the back foot, what with the Opposition pinning the blame on the state government and calling it a “disastrous” situation, and the Sena joining the chorus saying that the “development bubble has finally burst”.

A recent report published by the department of indu-strial policy and promotion of the Centre states that the state has lost its hitherto number one position to Karnataka in attracting industrial investment and slipped to third place instead .

Former chief minister and MPCC chief Ashok Chavan said, “When the Congress alliance was in power, the state was always number one in attracting investment but in four years, the picture has rapidly changed.”

An editorial in the Sena mouthpiece Saamana said, “There were many bubbles around development but the reality is different. With this report, the truth has come before the public.”
