Mumbai: The India Meteorological Department’s Colaba Observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 34°C on Monday, which was 0.5 degrees above normal, while the Santa Cruz observatory recorded 34.6 degrees C, which was 0.7 degrees above normal. Mumbaikars, however, said that the heat and discomfort continued to be felt throughout the day.

The weather bureau predicted a partly cloudy sky for Saturday due to the presence of a cyclonic circulation over southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep area, which is pulling moisture along the Konkan coastline.

The temperatures in the coastal areas of Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg were relatively lower, averaging between 32 and 34 degrees, but people experienced difficulties due to high humidity.
