Mumbai: The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has released copies of the alleged agreement between the state government and private company, Effervescent Films Private Limited, regarding chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’ television outreach programme titled “Mi Mukhyamantri Boltoy” (This is the chief minister speaking). The copy clearly contradicts the state government’s claims regarding bills of the television show.

While the government claimed that bills of the programme are paid only after the show is aired, there is a clause in the agreement which allows Efferve-scent to raise the bill even if the programme is postponed or cancelled. The state government’s public relations department however denied presence of any such clause.

Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant called the TV show a Rs 2 crore scam even as the state government’s public relations office on Monday refuted the allegations.

Mr Sawant claimed that Effervescent was receiving Rs 1,970,000 per month although the show was not being videographed.
