Mumbai: The Shiv Sena has slammed Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah over alleged restrictions placed by the state on Hindu communities’ festivals in Mumbai.

Mr Shah had threatened the West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee about the restrictions on Durga Puja.  Referring to this, Sena asked why there were restrictions on Hindu festivals in Mumbai imposed ? Mr Thackeray has good relations with the West Bengal CM and when Mr Shah targeted her, the former is seemingly trying to corner the BJP.

The state has asked the BMC and the police to implement the high court’s directions on Ganesha Chaturthi and Dahi-handi festivals.
