ZP school records better than private'
Mr Tawde attributed this to teachers and educators.
Mumbai: State education minister Vinod Tawde, who presented the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) for 2018 Tuesday said that there was a marked improvement in student performance in the state.
Mr Tawde attributed this to teachers and educators. “Since a couple of years, teachers in Zilla Parishad schools have been maintaining a clear positive approach towards every initiative the government is making. This is the sole reason, the records created by ZP schools are better than any private schools across the state,” he said.
“For the female students, we have created clean and maintained toilets. In 2010, 43.2 per cent schools had such toilets, which have now increased to 63.9 per cent. About the mid-day meal for students during the break, in 2010, 90.7 per cent schools were given meals, which has now increased to 94.7 per cent,” said Mr Tawde.
Usha Rane, director, training, and content developer, Pratham told this newspaper, “Parents now know what is the importance of education. This is one reason why enrolment rates are increasing and dropout rates are decreasing in Zilla Parishad schools.”
