Prithiviraj Chavan asks for report on Samruddhi
The Samruddhi expressway is chief minister Devendra Fadnavis' dream project that is worth Rs 46,000 crore.
Mumbai: The Samruddhi expressway is not a financially viable project and the government should declare detailed project reports about it immediately, said former chief minister Prithiviraj Chavan. The government is not providing papers about the project under the Right To Information Act and so I will also write a letter to the Governor C Vidyasar Rao about the same, he said. If any malpractices or wrong doings are found, the Congress will ask to review it, he added.
The Samruddhi expressway is chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’ dream project that is worth Rs 46,000 crore. Mr Chavan has questioned how the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is raising funds for this project and how many vehicles are expected to use the road. He also asked the government to disclose the amount of money that will be collected as toll from it. Mr Chavan said that a transparent government should provide all papers of a project undertaken by it.
The MSRDC will start the bidding for the project on Wednesday.
