Kadam says sorry to women
The MLA had landed in controversy after a video clip showing him telling boys that he would help kidnap a girl if they wanted to marry her got out.
Mumbai: BJP MLA Ram Kadam has tendered an unconditional apology to all women while replying to a notice issued by the state women’s rights commission.
In a reply written to the state women’s rights commission, Mr Kadam admitted to his mistake and tendered an apology. “I have already extended an apology for the remarks. I have requested all women to forgive me. It was my mistake. I just want to assure the women’s rights commission that mothers and sisters are like Lakshmi (Hindu goddess of wealth) and mothers and fathers are like gods for me. While extending an unconditional apology to all women, I want to assure the women’s rights commission that I will keep working to spread this message in society,” he wrote.
