Mantralaya beautified with 5,000 decorative plantations
BMC has planted as many as 5,000 plants in the area ahead of state legislature's winter session, which starts from November 19.
Mumbai: Mantralaya precincts are full of flower and decorative plants, as the Briha-nmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has planted as many as 5,000 plants in the area ahead of state legislature’s winter session, which starts from November 19.
According to civic officials, the BMC garden department has planted 3,000 decorative plants on the road dividers of major roads around legislature and Mantralaya. In addition to this, 2,000 plants have been planted in attractive vessels. The BMC is also painting big trees in the locality.
For the winter legislature session, the road dividers and junctions of major roads like Madame Kama Marg, Barri. Rajani Patel Marge, General Jag-annath Bhosale Marg, Fr-ee Press Journal Marg in the Mantralaya precincts has been beautified by the BMC, said civic officials.
“The flower and decorative plants used for the beautification have been grown in the municipal nursery. For this, gardeners and other employees of the garden department were working for last two months. The samplings that have been planted include Sadaphuli, Zinnia, Petunia, Torenia, Celosia etc,” said Jitendra Pardeshi, superintendent, garden department.
