Amar Mahal to partially open by April 21
The flyover's Thane-bound stretch will be open for traffic, said a Public Works Department (PWD) official.
Mumbai: The Amar Mahal flyover, which was shut since last April, will be partially operational by April 21. The flyover’s Thane-bound stretch will be open for traffic, said a Public Works Department (PWD) official. The stretch was closed down after bearings of the structure were reportedly damaged. Initially, temporary repair work was suggested, however, after the recommendations by a technical team, tenders were invited to replace 60 meters span of both arms of the flyover.
“The work of the Thane-bound stretch is completed and will be open for public use by April 21, while the CST-bound stretch will take another two and half months’ time. Thus, the flyover will be fully accessible by June or July 2018,” said a senior PWD official. The flyover was damaged due to continuous traffic movement.
