Minor was allegedly raped in a IB school in Andheri.

Mumbai: The 57-year-old founder-director of an Andheri based international board (IB) school, who had allegedly raped a three-year-old minor girl late last year, arrived in India a few days ago and has denied all the charges.

The MIDC police, which is probing the case, has questioned him but does not have substantial evidence against him. The police said that it is questioning the defence witnesses and verifying the claims of the accused.

The police sources have said that the accused had returned to the country from Europe a week ago and was detained for questioning. While questioning, the accused refuted all of the allegations and said that he had evidence to prove his innocence.

The police officials said that while the first round of questioning is over, they are likely to call him again after verifying his claims. Since the police has not found any substantial evidence against him; it has not arrested him, said an official on the condition of anonymity.

Speaking to The Asian Age, Deputy Comm-issioner of Police, Zone 10, Navinchandra Reddy said, “The accused has been questioned, and the teams are trying to get his story of events straight. While we have already questioned the teaching, non-teaching staff and the parents. We have found that everyone was negating the allegations. Currently, we are verifying the facts that were stated by the accused.”

The police had conducted medical tests and found that there were no internal injury marks on the victim’s body. According to the allegations, the incident took place in November, probably after the Diwali vacations, when the school re-opened.  The minor girl’s mother, who lodged a complaint, said that her daughter’s class teacher would take her to the school’s director, who would rape her on several occasions.
