First come, first served round for those left out students
Once that is done, they will be given an option to select their stream, choose colleges with the special code of the college.
Mumbai:The special merit round declared on Saturday will be the final list that will be declared for the applicants seeking admission under the centralised admission process (CAP).
The next round will be on first come, first served (FCFS) basis and its dates will be finalised on August 21.
In the FCFS round, a student who has not taken admission elsewhere will be able to log into the online admission website using their Login ID and password.
Once that is done, they will be given an option to select their stream, choose colleges with the special code of the college. After this, the student needs to click on the college name where they will be shown the vacancy list of the college. If there is seat available, they have to click on ‘Apply Now’ to continue in the college. This way, the first student who applies will be served the seat and will get the admission.
However, the state education department’s Deputy Director of Education (DyDe) office who manages the FYJC admissions have asked the students to not wait for the FCFS if they have been allotted a seat in the special round. “FCFS is for the students who have not got admission anywhere till now. So it would be better if the students who have allotted a seat in the special round, confirm their seats in the colleges,” said a senior official at the DyDe office.
The dates of the FCFS and it’s schedule will be announced soon on the official website of the department. The students who have been allotted seats should confirm their seats by paying the fees and taking admission before August 21.
