Subramanian Swamy heaps praise on Shiv Sena chief, scion
Mr Swamy termed late Shiv Sena founder, Bal Thackeray as the true face of Hindutva.
Mumbai: On a visit to Mumbai on Saturday, BJP MP Subramanian Swamy was full of praise for Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya.
“After Balasaheb and Uddhav took the reins of the Shiv Sena, there were elections and, in Delhi, I was told that the Sena won’t secure more than 12 seats. But they won 63 seats. It is because of Uddhav that Maharashtra is safe today. Even Aaditya is a smart person whom I keep meeting,” said Mr Swamy.
Mr Swamy termed late Sena founder, Bal Thackeray as the true face of Hindutva, adding that Uddhav was carrying forward his father’s legacy very well.
Mr Swamy said, “Today, Hindu consciousness exists in the country because of Balasaheb Thackeray. In 1983, I raised the issue of renaming India as Hindustan, after which Balasaheb called me and felicitated me during the Dusshera melava at Shivaji Park.”
