Anil Gote takes U-turn over resignation
Mr Gote further said the CM has asked him to meet state BJP chief Raosaheb Danve and BJP organisational secretary to sort out the issue.
Mumbai: Rebel BJP MLA Anil Gote has made a sudden U-turn over his resignation, saying that he is willing to reconsider his decision provided the pa-rty agrees to hold the up-coming Dhule Municipal Corporation (DMC) polls under his leadership.
Alleging induction of “criminals” into the party, Mr Gote had announced his resignation from the Assembly and the party on November 12 and said that he would contest the December 9 mayoral election for the DMC. He had also said that he would submit his resignation to the Assembly speaker on November 19, the opening day of the Winter Session of the state legislature.
Mr Gote further said the CM has asked him to meet state BJP chief Raosaheb Danve and BJP organisational secretary to sort out the issue. “The CM has assured me that I will have the right to select candidates for Dhule civic polls,” he said.
