DMRC invites tenders for roofing of metro stns
The DMRC is executing the project on behalf of Mumbai MMRDA and has completed more than 45 per cent of the civil works on the line.
Mumbai: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which is the executing agency for the Metro line- 2 A (D. N. Nagar to Dashisar West), has issued tenders to select contractors for the design and roofing of eight metro stations as part of the project. The DMRC is executing the project on behalf of Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and has completed more than 45 per cent of the civil works on the line.
In its tenders, the DMRC mentioned, “Contractor needs to look after design, fabrication, supply and erection of prefabricated steel roof structures including roof sheating etc. for eight elevated stations.” Among the stations which will be designed include Charkop, Malad Metro, Kasturi Park, Bangur Nagar, Goregaon Metro, Adarsh Nagar, Shastri Nagar and D. N. Nagar. The MMRDA has planned that all the stations of the upcoming metro projects will depict certain themes. According to officials, each of the areas where the stations are coming up will be studied, post which the theme will be decided.
Meanwhile, the MMRDA had asked various architectural firms and colleges to submit their designs for the station. “We have taken design elements from their submissions and incorporated it in our final design,” said a senior MMRDA official.
