Mumbai: The Opposition has decided to corner the state government on issues related to alleged corruption by ministers, worsening law and order situation and failure in handling the agriculture crisis.

Leaders of Congress and Nationalist Congress Party met in Mumbai Wednesday ahead of the Nagpur monsoon session. Opposition leaders will target the government on civic issues pertaining to Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur.

Congress and NCP also  plan to corner the state government on deteriorating law and order, failure in employment generation and corruption allegations against ministers in the Devendra Fadnavis government.

“The chief minister has given blind clean chits to his Cabinet colleagues. Information of several ministers’ misdemeanours is in the public domain,” said Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, who is also the leader of opposition in the legislative assembly.

NCP leader Jayant Patil said that the coming session will reflect the public’s mood. “The state’s debt has reached Rs 5 lakh crore. This is the height of financial mismanagement,” he said.
