Unhappy' BJP MP meets Congress state chief
Patole made headlines two months ago when he criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mumbai: Sulking Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) Nana Patole met Maharashtra Congress chief Ashok Chavan on Monday. Mr Chavan had recently invited Mr Patole to join the Congress.
Mr Patole is known for criticising his party’s governments in the state and Centre for various reasons. “I want to raise issues of farmers in Lok Sabha. We are planning to raise these issues united so that they could be heard properly,” said Mr Patole on meeting with Mr Chavan. Mr Patole is set to hold a march in the first week of December over farmers’ issues and OBC-related issues in Vidarbha.
“We did not discuss any political issues. It was purely related to the issues of farmers and OBCs in Vidarbha,” said Mr Patole after the meeting.
Of late, Mr Patole has been meeting other party leaders. Recently he met Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. In the meeting, both leaders decided to help each other to raise the issues of farmers. Interestingly, both leaders are criticising the BJP’s decision of giving loan waiver to farmers in the state. Though Mr Patole is consistently denying any political intention behind is rebellious stance, his attack is proving to be an embarrassment for the government.
