Mumbai: Already staring at a revenue shortfall of Rs 400cr and huge spillovers in context to pending payments, the financial condition of the MBMC has further worsened owing to significant plunge in government grants.  

It should be noted that from Rs 18.51 crore to Rs 13.81 crore - the state has trimmed down grants on a monthly basis to the civic administration towards GST compensation and surcharge levied on stamp duty transactions by Rs 6 crore.
